IF YOU WANT TO MASTER THE ART OF WORDS – THE FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY IS FOR YOU!
The contribution
of language and literature to the advancement of world civilization and the
spiritual development of humanity is undeniably immense. At every stage of
social progress, written culture and the art of the word have influenced the
renewal of human consciousness and shaped national identity. Preserving the
intellectual heritage accumulated over centuries and passing it on to future
generations is a vital mission of the humanities, particularly in the field of
philology.
The Faculty of Philology at
Abai University is a leading academic institution that prepares competitive and
well-rounded specialists in line with modern demands. The structure of its
academic programs offers applicants a wide range of opportunities. For instance,
in the current academic year, applicants need 95 points on the UNT to
enroll in “Kazakh Language and Literature,” 80 points for the “Russian
Language and Literature” teacher training program (including for
non-Russian schools), and 75 points for the “Philology” program.
The educational process at the
faculty is based on international standards. An experienced academic staff,
modern innovative teaching methods, and the early involvement of students in
research activities are key factors in developing professional competencies. In
addition, international cooperation, participation in scientific conferences,
academic mobility, and internships at foreign research centers significantly
broaden students’ perspectives.
Special attention is also
given to the development of students’ creative potential. Literary clubs,
debate societies, poetry evenings, and academic seminars foster free thinking,
speech culture, and public speaking skills. Students acquire competencies in
linguistic analysis, critical interpretation of literary works, and the study
of historical artifacts and manuscripts.
The expansion of the
information space, the development of media, and the strengthening of digital
communications have increased the demand for language specialists to a new
level. In this regard, graduates are competitive not only in education but also
in journalism, editing, translation, and media industries. The faculty shapes
not only professional knowledge but also responsibility and respect for
national values. Indeed, the art of the word is not merely a science – it is
the core of spirituality and a reflection of the nation.
Each graduate of this faculty
contributes to the development of society by combining knowledge and culture.
For them, the word is not just a tool, but a powerful force capable of
conveying ideas and transforming society.
