Today, Abai University hosted a jubilee reunion of the 1981 graduates of the Faculty of History and Law. Returning to their alma mater 45 years after graduation, the alumni reminisced about the brightest moments of their youth and student life. During the event, they joined the University Alumni Association and expressed their support for the Abai Endowment Fund.

For the graduates who traveled from different regions of the country, the reunion was a memorable and emotional occasion. Although nearly half a century has passed since their graduation, cherished memories of their student years remain vivid. Among the participants were school principals, distinguished educators, representatives of science and industry, as well as individuals who have made significant contributions to public service. Reuniting within the walls of the university, they shared memories of their youth and student days.

During the celebratory event, Vice-Rector for Social Development Maksat Zhakauov extended his warm wishes to the graduates and presented them with membership certificates of the Alumni Association.

“Dear graduates, it is a great honor for us to welcome you back to Abai University, your alma mater. You represent a generation that witnessed the formation and development of the university and left a distinct mark on its history. Such gatherings help connect the past with the present and provide an opportunity to pass on valuable life experiences and inspiring examples to younger generations,” said the Vice-Rector.

Throughout the reunion, the graduates shared fond memories of their student years and recalled the professors who had taught them. They visited the lecture halls where they once studied and toured the student dormitory. The event was filled with heartfelt stories about university life, enduring friendships, and unforgettable experiences that shaped their formative years.

The Head of the Abai University Alumni Association, Bolatbek Nurbatyrov, also addressed the gathering and congratulated the graduates on the occasion. He introduced the Association’s activities, key areas of work, and initiatives aimed at strengthening connections among alumni. In addition, he presented the achievements and future plans of the Abai Endowment Fund. Particular attention was given to the Fund’s initiatives focused on enhancing the quality of education, supporting talented young people, and advancing research projects. In turn, the graduates expressed their readiness to support the Fund and contribute to the achievement of its noble goals.

The alumni also learned about the university’s current developments and shared their warm impressions. They expressed their sincere wishes for the continued growth and prosperity of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, one of Kazakhstan’s leading centers of education and science.
