HONORING THE MENTOR: SHAKARIM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS VISIT ABAI UNIVERSITY

Top-performing students from Shakarim University in Semey have arrived at Abai University as part of the project "Top GPA – Great Opportunity: Shakarim – Abai Educational Bridge." Our student activists warmly welcomed the guests from Semey with great enthusiasm and traditional Kazakh hospitality. During their trip, the visiting students will explore the sights of Almaty, which is widely recognized as the nation's center of science, education, and culture.

This event serves as a prime example of strengthening strategic cooperation between the two "brother" universities, enhancing interregional ties, and elevating academic partnerships to a brand-new level. As a pioneer of pedagogical education in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, and the "founding father" of Kazakhstani universities, Abai University aims to showcase its vibrant student life to the regions. The project is designed to broaden the historical and cultural horizons of learners, cultivate environmental awareness, and foster patriotism. By bringing together the youth of Almaty and Semey, the project provides a platform for free communication and mutual exchange of experience.

A key highlight of the program will be the students' contribution to the "Taza Qazaqstan" (Clean Kazakhstan) environmental campaign. They will organize events in city parks and recreational areas to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Furthermore, to start each day energized and actively promote a healthy lifestyle, the youth will participate in morning workout sessions.

According to the itinerary, the students of Shakarim University will tour the prominent landmarks and natural sites of Almaty. They will visit the Monument of Independence on Republic Square to learn about the country's history and the symbolism of the "Golden Man." The itinerary also includes exploring archaeological and ethnographic artifacts at the Central State Museum and visiting the "Almaty Museum of Arts," a major cultural hub that celebrates contemporary Central Asian art.

Additionally, excursions to unique natural sites in the Almaty region are scheduled. Participants will hike through the Charyn Canyon and visit Lake Kaindy, famous for its submerged spruce trees, as well as the Kolsay Lakes. Overall, the project will be carried out between June 15 and June 18.

For the youth representing the university named after the great thinker Shakarim, who considered the wise Hakim Abai his mentor, this exciting program bridging education, values, history, and heritage will undoubtedly provide valuable experience and leave unforgettable memories.
