INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED

Today, international programme accreditation by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) has officially begun at Abai University. As part of this initiative aimed at enhancing the university’s competitiveness in the global educational space, an expert panel held meetings with the university leadership to discuss strategic development priorities, governance systems, and institutional transformation.

During the meetings, the university’s strategic goals, management system, and institutional renewal processes were thoroughly reviewed. The commission members also interviewed vice-rectors responsible for academic affairs, science, internationalization, and digitalization. In addition, they became acquainted with the university’s academic and research infrastructure and examined the work of key structural units supporting the educational process.

Within the framework of the international programme accreditation, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted for a number of IP educational programmes covering natural sciences and mathematics, pedagogy, languages, social sciences, and tourism. The quality of educational programmes, teaching and methodological support, research potential, and alignment with labour market requirements were carefully assessed.

Throughout the accreditation process, external experts worked in stages with all levels of the university’s academic and administrative system. Heads of structural units presented key areas including quality assurance mechanisms, organization of the academic process, student services, research development, expansion of international cooperation, implementation of infrastructure projects, and internal management efficiency.

Student interviews were also conducted, during which learners shared their experiences and feedback regarding the educational process. They expressed their views on the quality of the learning environment, the practical orientation of study programmes, academic support systems, and compliance with international standards. The role of programmes in enhancing graduates’ professional competitiveness was also highlighted.

The accreditation process will continue until June 12. During this period, a comprehensive analysis of the university’s core activities will be conducted, after which external experts will provide a final evaluation.
