MODERN PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES AND INNOVATIONS DISCUSSED

Today, Abai University hosted the international scientific and practical conference entitled “Quality of Education in the 21st Century: Modern Pedagogical Practices and Innovations”. The plenary meeting reviewed the contribution of Professor Askarbek Kusainov, President of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, to national education and discussed contemporary pedagogical innovations.

 

The conference was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Professor Askarbek Kusainov, an outstanding scholar who made an immeasurable contribution to the formation of a new era of educational development in Kazakhstan, the founder of the country’s school of comparative pedagogy and the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. The scientific session was opened by Bolat Tlep, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai KazNPU. In his congratulatory remarks, the Rector highlighted the academician’s many years of dedicated work in elevating national pedagogy to a new level and his distinguished path in science.

 

– Askarbek Kusainov is a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Academician, a distinguished scholar recognized in both the national and international educational space, who has made an invaluable contribution to Kazakhstan’s education system. The Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Kazakhstan, established at his initiative, has become a leading scientific center and contributes to uniting the professional community of researchers and educators, – the Rector stated.

 

In recognition of the professor-academician’s many years of exceptional service at Abai University, he was awarded the “Honorary Veteran” badge as a mark of high respect.

 

The session was moderated by Yertay Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, who emphasized the jubilarian’s fundamental role in transforming the field of education in line with modern trends. In addition, Aqylbek Kurishbayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, sent a special congratulatory message, highly praising the jubilarian’s distinctive scientific contribution and public service.

 

The event comprehensively reviewed the scholar’s creative journey and major achievements. Open discussions held in a blitz-interview format enriched the content of the gathering and added depth to its meaning. Participants particularly noted Askarbek Kabikenovich’s historical standing as the first researcher of textbook studies in Kazakhstan. They also discussed his role as the scientific and methodological supervisor of a series of terminology dictionaries and the significance of the well-known “Kusainov formula” in the world of pedagogy.

 

Within the conference framework, participants were introduced to the project “Improving the Quality of Secondary Education on a Scientific and Practical Basis”, implemented under the professor’s supervision at Secondary School No. 26. As a result of the project, the school’s educational process acquired a new character, and students’ academic performance and quality of knowledge improved significantly. In addition, children’s creative activity increased, and their results in subject Olympiads and research projects improved. The achievements of this study, which successfully combined theory and practice, generated considerable interest among participants.

 

The plenary meeting featured substantive presentations on current issues of the modern educational process. In a section attended by international and domestic scholars, Professor Firaz Kharisov of Kazan Federal University reflected on the quality of new-generation textbooks; Dauren Sagyngaliyev, Director of the Center of the Almaty City Education Department, addressed the development of scientific and practical foundations of secondary education; and Adilkhan Duisebek presented the concept of national values.

 

In addition, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Marat Tokashbayev, Professor Klara Kunakova, and Sarsenbay Kulmanov, a representative of the Institute of Linguistics, emphasized the significance of the scholar’s fundamental research. International researchers also discussed online learning, didactic models, and the development of future teachers’ competencies.

 

As part of the anniversary event, the official presentation of Askarbek Kabikenovich’s new books took place: “An Instructive History”, “Askarbek Kusainov: The Path of Education and Science”, and “China’s Education System: The Shanghai Path”.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, an important resolution was adopted aimed at modernizing the national academic environment, improving the quality of modern textbooks, and advancing digital pedagogy. This document is expected to provide new momentum for elevating Kazakhstan’s educational development and the science of comparative pedagogy to a new level.
