THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL CONSIDERED KEY ISSUES

A regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at Abai University. During the meeting chaired by Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University Bolat Tlep, key issues related to the development of the university’s research activities, expansion of international cooperation, enhancement of the use of the state language through artificial intelligence, and the activities of the Institute of Education in Astana were considered.

On the first agenda item, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Ertai Sultan delivered a report on the implementation mechanism of the university-funded internal incentive grants for 2026. Members of the Academic Council emphasized the need to ensure that research projects submitted to the internal university research competition correspond to state programs and priority areas of scientific development.

On the second agenda item, Ainur Sabitova, Director of the Sorbonne–Kazakhstan Institute, presented the work being carried out to internationalize educational programs and enhance their competitiveness. By decision of the Academic Council, efforts to develop joint and dual-degree educational programs with foreign higher education institutions, expand academic mobility, and strengthen international partnerships will be continued.

Within the framework of the third agenda item, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Philology Botakoz Tleubekova presented a report on efforts to expand the use of the state language through artificial intelligence technologies. In this area, the faculty plans to introduce digital tools into the educational process, develop research projects aimed at increasing the use of the Kazakh language in the digital environment, and enhance students’ competencies in the effective use of artificial intelligence technologies.

In addition, the results of the work of the Institute of Education of Abai University in Astana for the 2025–2026 academic year and the objectives for the upcoming period were reviewed. Dinislam Bolatkhanuly, Head of the Department Branch in Astana, provided information on the work completed and future development plans. During the meeting, specific tasks were identified regarding student admissions, digitalization of the educational process, organization of lectures by leading scholars, and strengthening the branch’s material and technical resources.

Follоwing the meeting of the Academic Council, appropriate decisions were adopted on all issues discussed, and specific tasks were assigned to the responsible structural units.
