During the meeting, the leadership of both higher education institutions discussed partnership opportunities in education, science, and international projects, officially sealing their bilateral cooperation through the signing of a milestone memorandum.
The distinguished foreign guests were warmly welcomed by Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Activities at Abai University, and Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization. As part of the official gathering, the Chinese colleagues were introduced to the history, current operations, international relations, and student life of Abai University. Vice-Rector Banu Mukhataykyzy noted that despite the distinct academic profiles of the two universities, there is a high potential for partnership and shared scientific interests. She also highly praised the Chinese university's outstanding achievements in research and development.
The President of Xi'an University, Zhao Minjuan, outlined the institution's dynamics and developmental milestones, presenting several concrete proposals. The delegation from the neighboring country intends to establish a center aimed at providing comprehensive services to Kazakhstani and Chinese companies, thereby bridging the business communities of both nations. This center is designed not only to eliminate language barriers by offering Kazakh and Chinese language courses but also to provide services in legal literacy, international trade, and accounting. The foreign colleagues invited Abai University to jointly implement this large-scale project.
Notably, Xi'an University of Finance and Economics is a leading public university in the People's Republic of China, located in Xi'an, an ancient cultural and educational hub. The institution primarily trains highly qualified specialists in economics, finance, international trade, law, and accounting, and is globally recognized for its fundamental research initiatives in these disciplines.
The meeting also focused on the academic exchange of faculty members, the development of joint research programs, the publication of scientific articles, and collaboration on other educational projects. University President Zhao Minjuan expressed a keen interest in expanding the cohort of Kazakhstani students studying at Xi'an University.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the leadership of both universities agreed to transition toward concrete actions under the framework of the signed memorandum. The parties expressed confidence that this bilateral document would serve as a solid foundation for a fruitful partnership driving the development of education and science in both countries.
