WINNERS OF THE CHILDREN’S COMPETITION ANNOUNCED

Today, on the occasion of June 1 – International Children’s Day, the results of the “Abai’s Hope” creative competition for the children of the university’s staff and faculty members were announced. The children’s competition was held with the support of the Institute for Educational Content Development, and the best participants received awards.

From May 4 to May 28, 2026, the online competition “Abai’s Hope” was announced among the children of the university’s employees. The main purpose of the competition was to develop children’s creativity and to foster spiritual and moral values in the younger generation through the promotion of the literary heritage of the great Abai.

As part of the online competition, participants recited Abai’s poems by heart and submitted video recordings of their performances. The creative works were evaluated based on the selection of the poem, expressive reading skills, diction, and the ability to convey the content of the work effectively. Participants were divided into age groups: preschool children (3–5 years old) and primary school students (6–10 years old). On the eve of International Children’s Day, the results of the competition were announced, and 12 participants were recognized as winners from among 41 creative entries.

The award ceremony was attended by Makhsat Zhakauov, Vice-Rector for Social Development of Abai University, Zhabal Shoiinbet, researcher at the “Hakim Abai” National Educational Center and Abai scholar, as well as the prize winners and their parents.

According to the competition results, in the 3–5 age category, first place was awarded to Zhiren Aisha, while second place went to Daniyaruly Alinur. Third place was won by Yerikuly Aisultan. In addition, Shamshidin Kamila received the special nomination “Abai’s Hope,” Dauren Ailin was awarded the nomination “Abai’s Legacy,” and Maratova Araisha received the nomination “Abai’s World.” 

In the primary school category (6–10 years old), first place was awarded to Bakdaulet Alinur, while second place went to Imangali Nurken. Third place was awarded to Nurmakhanbet Aikorkem. In this category, the nominations “Abai’s Hope” and “Abai’s Legacy” were awarded to Renatkyzy Zhaniya and Renatkyzy Adiya. Zhaksygali Amir became the winner of the “Abai’s World” nomination. 

The winners received Letters of Appreciation from the Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai University, diplomas, and special gifts. This competition is aimed at promoting Abai’s heritage, introducing the younger generation to national literature and the art of expressive reading, and developing their creative potential.
