NEW APPROACHES TO ASSESSING THE WORK OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS DISCUSSED
Abay University recently hosted a national online seminar focused on contemporary approaches to monitoring and assessing the work quality of educational psychologists. The discussion brought together professors, faculty members, and young scientists from the country's leading higher education institutions, including Alkei Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical University, Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, and Astana International University. The experts examined current developments in psycho-pedagogical education, identified existing challenges, and presented strategic proposals to improve psychological services across educational institutions.
The participants of the meeting, which was organized within the framework of the REMC UMS (Republican Educational and Methodological Council) "Pedagogy and Psychology" department, highlighted the growing significance of the educational psychologist's role in modern education. Due to expanding academic workloads and ongoing adjustments within the education system, both school and university students increasingly require the guidance of specialists who can help them navigate both academic and psychological difficulties. Consequently, special emphasis during the seminar was placed on discussing professional standards and classification frameworks for training future specialists.
The conditions of the educational environment in schools and universities emerged as another key topic of discussion. The experts emphasized that institutional infrastructure, the availability of extracurricular activities, and additional educational resources directly impact the learning process, fostering higher academic performance and student engagement.
In conclusion, the organizers outlined the core priorities for the psychological community, which include building a coherent educational environment and synchronizing all levels of study to ensure the continuity of knowledge and skills. Following the seminar, academic representatives formulated a package of practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the daily operations of educational psychologists and boosting the overall efficiency of their professional training.
