At the RES EXPO 2026 international exhibition held in Astana, the environmental and scientific-innovative projects presented by Abai University received high praise from international experts, and the university was awarded a special international certificate. This important achievement once again confirmed the institution’s systematic work in the fields of science and sustainable development.

Leading higher educational institutions of the country took part in the exhibition, which was organized from April 22 to 24 under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the United Nations and international organizations. During the event, participants presented their scientific projects in the areas of ecology, green technologies, and sustainable development, while also exchanging experience. At such a large-scale international exhibition, Abai University attracted considerable public attention with its meaningful projects.

Within the framework of the concept “Abai University: On the Path to Sustainable Development,” the university presented five fundamental projects, demonstrating concrete scientific initiatives aimed at solving environmental issues. In particular, the scientists introduced projects on effective waste management, the development of environmental culture, alternative energy sources, vermicompost production, mobile devices for cleaning oil-contaminated areas, and the development of a “green” campus system. These projects stood out for being aimed not only at environmental protection, but also at improving the quality of life in society.

Particularly noteworthy was the “Green University” initiative presented at the exhibition, which was highly appreciated as the result of many years of scientific research and practical work by the university’s scholars. The projects, combining environmental responsibility with scientific innovation, demonstrate the university’s active position in promoting ecological culture.

At the conclusion of the exhibition, the awarding of a special international prize to Abai University became a significant recognition of the university’s scientific potential and the professional level of its scholars. Moreover, this achievement was regarded as the result of the university staff’s dedicated work and their responsibility in directing science toward the benefit of society.
