Today, a ceremonial opening of the new campus of the Abai National School for gifted children took place in Almaty. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy, Minister of Education of Kazakhstan Zhuldyz Suleimenova, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Bolat Tilep, members of the intellectual community, and distinguished alumni of the school. Abai University agreed to implement joint projects with the republican Abai National School.

The Abai Boarding School for Gifted Children is located in the “Daryn” district. The new educational complex is designed for 900 students. All necessary conditions have been created here for high-quality education, research activities, sports, and creative development.

– President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev consistently emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of education in the country. This is one of the key directions in building a Just Kazakhstan. As the Head of State noted, in the era of globalization, a country that masters advanced knowledge will have a bright future. Therefore, extensive work has been carried out in this direction in recent years under the President’s instructions. The advancement of the Abai National School to a new level, officially opened today, is the result of this comprehensive effort, said Senate Speaker Maulen Sagatuly during the opening ceremony.

The new boarding school campus includes a modern Abai Museum, classrooms, subject laboratories, sports and assembly halls, a library, a cafeteria, and creative workshops. Sports grounds have also been arranged around the building for students. Currently, 351 students are studying at the institution, and the total staff consists of 146 employees. Among them are 72 teachers holding the qualifications of master teacher, researcher, expert, and moderator.

Representing Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University at the opening ceremony were Chairman of the Board and Rector Bolat Anapiyauly, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Ertai Sultan, Chief of Staff Zhanatbek Ishpekbayev, and Mukhtar Ibraimov, who led the school for many years. They expressed their intention to continue supporting the educational institution in the future.

Abai University has proposed support for the school in implementing joint scientific research, supervising scientific projects, and developing a pedagogical practice base.
