University–School Collaboration Reaches a New Level
On April 24, the “Pedagogical Innovations and Action Research” Center of Abai University, in collaboration with Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 123 named after Yassawi, held the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Yassawi’s Legacy: Values and Competencies of the 21st Century.” The main goal of the large-scale event was to discuss the scientific and methodological aspects of ensuring the unity of education and upbringing based on the concept of the “Perfect Human” in the teachings of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.
During the plenary session, alongside scholars from Turkey and Central Asian countries, representatives of Abai University delivered insightful presentations. In particular, Professor Aiman Berikhanova, Head of the UNESCO Chair, Professor Zhomart Simtikov, Head of the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines, and Yassawi studies scholar A.D. Meirmanov emphasized the importance of spiritual and moral values in the modern educational space.
As part of the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Abai University and School-Gymnasium No. 123. This document elevated the partnership to a new level and opened opportunities for joint projects and exchange of experience.
School Director Bagila Masimakhynkyzy and Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Raikhan Manapkyzy expressed their gratitude and highlighted the significance of the professional development courses and methodological seminars organized by the center throughout the academic year.
In addition, the center’s mentor-researchers – G. Rasheva, R. Seitkaziev, M. Iskakova, and B. Kadyrova – moderated the conference sections and shared their scientific and methodological expertise.
This partnership, aimed at integrating academic knowledge with school practice, will continue in the future and contribute to improving the quality of education.
