JUNIPER TREES PLANTED WITHIN THE “CLEAN KAZAKHSTAN” INITIATIVE

The Foundation Faculty of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University carried out landscaping work by planting juniper trees in the courtyards of academic buildings as part of the “Clean Kazakhstan” environmental campaign. The event was organized במסגרת the implementation of the “Clean Kazakhstan” concept for 2024–2029, approved by the instruction of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The purpose of this event is to improve the quality of the environment, foster ecological culture among the younger generation, support environmental initiatives, and create conditions for their implementation. As part of the campaign, faculty members and students actively participated and planted 10 juniper trees in the courtyard of the university’s main academic building, as well as in the courtyard of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography.

Participants emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility of every citizen and expressed confidence that such environmental initiatives will continue in the future.

The main goals and directions of the “Clean Kazakhstan” concept are aimed at developing environmental culture in society. In particular, this includes fostering a respectful attitude toward nature as a way of life for every citizen, as well as developing ecological thinking and responsible behavior.

In addition, one of the key directions is the systematic implementation of environmental education and awareness at all levels, from kindergartens to higher education institutions. Other key tasks include improving urban and rural areas, increasing green spaces, and enhancing environmental quality.

It is worth noting that at Abai University, within the framework of the “Clean Kazakhstan” project, clean-up events and activities aimed at developing environmental culture are regularly held throughout the year. During these initiatives, students actively participate in maintaining the areas around academic buildings and dormitories, cleaning lawns from litter, leaves, and broken branches, planting trees, and taking part in environmental protection campaigns.
