Abai’s heritage is the core of national identity and a priceless treasure of the Kazakh people. Today, a ceremonial awarding event of the “Asyl Mura” competition, organized by Abai University among school students from Almaty city, Almaty region, and Astana city, was held. The competition aimed to promote the creative legacy of Hakim Abai, broaden the horizons of young talents, and open a wide path for their spiritual development.

A total of 364 participants from across the country took part in the two-stage competition, testing their abilities. The six best contestants who successfully passed the selection rounds advanced to the final and proved themselves as true masters of artistic expression.

At the opening ceremony, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Director of the “Hakim Abai” Research Center, Zhabal Shoiinbet, delivered a meaningful speech, emphasizing that studying Abai’s heritage is the key to preserving national identity.

The jury panel consisted of experienced scholars and Abai researchers, who paid special attention to the participants’ stage culture, emotional depth, and their ability to convey the spirit of poetry.

According to the competition criteria, the following students were recognized as the best for their profound and expressive performance of Abai’s poems:
1st place – Shynar Batyrkhankyzy, Astana city, School-Gymnasium №87;
2nd place – Azat Sundetbek, Almaty city, School-Gymnasium №198;
3rd place – Raiymbek Kobeysinov, Almaty region, Kainazar village, Secondary School №1.

The winners were awarded special diplomas and cash prizes. Additionally, active participants received certificates of appreciation in the nominations “Abai Amanaty” and “Abai Alemi.”

In an era of accelerating globalization, Abai’s enlightened wisdom serves as a guiding beacon. The younger generation nurtured by his teachings is the main force shaping the country’s future. Such meaningful events undoubtedly provide new momentum to the spiritual revival of the nation and elevate the status of the native language.
