On April 10–11, 2026, the capital of the People's Republic of China, Beijing, hosted the China Study Abroad Forum (CSAF) and the China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET). The grand opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the PRC, the Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova, and an Abai University delegation including Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova and Director of the Educational Programs Analysis Department Nurzhamal Oshanova, alongside other Kazakhstani university leaders.

During the exhibition, Kazakhstani universities presented their educational programs and discussed the development of academic mobility, joint educational projects, and scientific cooperation. The event aims to expand opportunities for attracting international students to Kazakhstan.

Abai University's partners, Mei Yakun, Director of the International School of Education in China, and specialist Aida Nurlan, also took part in the Beijing exhibition.

A significant highlight was the meeting between representatives of Abai KazNPU and Beijing Normal University. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships in education and science. A major outcome of the meeting was the decision to establish the first "Institute of Global Pedagogical Development" in Central Asia at Abai University. This center will focus on enhancing the pedagogical and linguistic competencies of students and faculty, as well as integrating modern educational practices and international expertise.

Furthermore, Abai KazNPU representatives met with colleagues from Shandong Normal University to discuss collaborative initiatives. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova and the President of Shandong University, Zhang Jian, signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement is designed to implement Abai University’s educational programs at Shandong Normal University and foster cooperation in science and culture.
