CHOOSING A FUTURE CAREER STARTS TODAY

Today, students from the “Menің mektebi” secondary school paid a special visit to Abai University. Future graduates of this year became acquainted with university life and received guidance on choosing a profession. They were informed about the educational programs offered by one of the country’s leading pedagogical universities, as well as about employment opportunities and academic mobility programs. The students received answers to their questions and visited the university museum.

Currently, the January National Unified Testing (NUT) is being conducted across the country. Nationwide, 187,000 applicants have submitted applications to take the NUT. Of these, 90,000 applicants have already taken the test, and 65% of them achieved the minimum passing score. The results of this NUT allow graduates to enroll in higher education institutions on a tuition-paying basis.

The conscious determination of future professional paths by school graduates is an important task of the education system. Understanding this well, 11th-grade students of the “Menің mektebi” secondary school located in the Almaty Region visited Abai University today to familiarize themselves with its material and technical facilities.

First, the students learned about the history and scientific potential of the country’s first higher education institution. They received comprehensive information about the specialties taught at the university’s faculties, as well as about students’ practical training and employment rates. Faculty members from the Natural Sciences and Geography Faculty, as well as the History and Law Faculty, spoke about the demand for these professions in the labor market. Information was also provided on state and regional grant opportunities, and the educational laboratories and training facilities of Abai University were presented.

It is worth noting that every year the number of applicants choosing Abai University continues to grow, along with the student population. In addition to pedagogy, students receive education in management, political science, arts, law, and economics. The university maintains active cooperation with leading foreign universities, and last year, within the framework of academic mobility, about 250 students studied abroad in both near and far countries, enhancing their knowledge and broadening their perspectives. Abai University maintains close cooperation with global higher education institutions and trains specialists in accordance with international standards.
