EXTERNAL EXPERT COMMISSION COMMENCES ITS WORK

The External Expert Commission of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assessment in Education (ARQA) has commenced its work at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University as part of the specialized accreditation process.

The first day of the commission's visit began with an interview session with the university administration. Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, presented an overview of the university's current potential and major achievements. The expert group met with Vice-Rectors responsible for strategy, digitalization, research, and social development to review the implementation progress of the university's strategic development plan. During the interviews, experts received detailed information regarding human resources development, the improvement of student self-government systems, and the modernization of infrastructure in line with international standards.

Furthermore, commission members held meetings with heads of structural units and coordinators of the educational programs undergoing accreditation. Faculty deans and heads of departments demonstrated the progress made in curriculum development and social-educational initiatives. To assess the quality of the educational process, the commission attended lectures and conducted interviews with employers and alumni.

The second day of the commission's work is dedicated to meetings with the faculty and teaching staff, a visual inspection of the university's material and technical facilities, and an audit of educational and methodological documentation. The accreditation commission will conclude its work on April 17 by presenting its findings and providing recommendations aimed at enhancing educational quality.

The visit of the ARQA agency is essential for determining the compliance of the university's educational quality and internal systems with international standards (ESG). The accreditation certificate issued upon completion will foster Abai University's international partnerships, ensure global recognition of its diplomas, and strengthen the university's standing in the global educational arena.
