STUDENT HACKATHON HELD AT ABAI UNIVERSITY

In celebration of World Education Day, a student hackathon titled “EduFest Hackathon: The Future of Education Through the Eyes of Youth” was held at Abai University. During the event, talented young participants presented creative solutions to pressing global issues and competed in a dynamic contest.

Teams composed of students from various faculties showcased innovative ideas and proposed modern methods and approaches aimed at advancing the education sector. The student hackathon became an initiative that brought together the bright ideas of forward-thinking youth.

In general, a hackathon is an innovative competition designed to bring young people’s ideas to life and generate new solutions. It enhances students’ creative potential and provides opportunities to propose new technological and social innovations. At Abai University, students study in the fields of pedagogy, law, arts, management, and international relations. Participants representing different academic disciplines joined forces as unified teams and competed together.

The teams “EduTransformers,” “Kultegin,” “Oilab,” “Tauarikh,” and “Kultobe” addressed critical issues based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They presented projects in the social, economic, and environmental spheres. The student hackathon consisted of four stages: presentation, Khahot, innovative solution, and creative poster.

Participants demonstrated how digital technologies, innovative platforms, and modern teaching methods can contribute to the development of the education sector. Discussions highlighted that artificial intelligence is ushering pedagogy into a new era, while scientific and technological advancements have the potential to fundamentally transform human life.

At the conclusion of the competition, the top-performing teams were announced. Teams that demonstrated creativity and proficiency in digital technologies and artificial intelligence fundamentals were awarded. The “Tauarikh” team secured third place, “Kultegin” took second place, and the first prize was awarded to the “Kultobe” team.
