ABAI BUSINESS CLUB LAUNCHED AT ABAI UNIVERSITY

Today, the official opening of the Abai Business Club took place at Abai University. This initiative aims to elevate the commercialization of science within the university to a new level. The event brought together representatives of the business and innovation sectors, winners of startup competitions, young entrepreneurs, and members of the university community.

On the occasion of the club’s opening, a strategic session titled “Startup: From Idea to Market” was organized. The session focused on creating a favorable ecosystem for experience exchange and discussing concrete mechanisms for rapidly bringing projects to market. Experts emphasized that supporting startup projects involves attracting funding sources and adapting to market requirements. For example, Abai Fresh beverages underwent testing last year and are now ready to enter the market. The main advantage of the drink, rich in natural vitamins, is the balance between affordability and quality. The authors of the idea plan to launch sales in educational institutions in the near future and then introduce the product to the broader market.

In addition, the “Smart School Cafeteria” project is aimed at promoting a culture of healthy nutrition, while the production of biohumus through the recycling of organic waste offers an effective solution to environmental issues. The “Birlik Workshop” project combines inclusive education with social adaptation, addressing an important societal direction.

In the expert session, the director of the startup business incubator, Vladimir Popov, delivered an insightful presentation on the topic “Why should students and teachers engage in startups?”, highlighting government support mechanisms for youth. He explained the stages of startup implementation and the importance of effective teamwork with concrete examples. The First Vice President of the Association of Business Incubators and Accelerators of Kazakhstan, Yerbolat Orazbekuly, shared practical advice on strategic thinking, risk-taking, and proper market orientation.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Abai University, Ertai Sultan, taking into account expert opinions on joint projects, noted that comprehensive work will be carried out in the future to further develop these initiatives.

The launch of the Abai Business Club is an important step toward the systematic development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university. It serves as a platform of opportunities to shorten the path from idea to finished product, unlock the potential of young startup founders, and adapt them to real market demands.
