A NOBEL PRIZE LAUREATE VISITED ABAI UNIVERSITY
Today, Abai University was visited by Rae Kwon Chung, an
international expert in green economy, climate, and alternative energy, and a
Nobel Prize laureate. The distinguished scholar ознакомился with the
university’s scientific projects in the fields of natural sciences and ecology
and met with the university leadership.
Professor and renowned ecologist Rae Kwon Chung held a
meeting with the university leadership at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and
Geography, where he ознакомился with research projects in the field of ecology.
The scientist was presented with the research potential and biological features
of the agrobiostation launched last year.
In turn, the international expert and professor shared
recommendations on the future development of these projects and the expansion
of their environmental capabilities. He emphasized the need to establish a
system aimed at improving public welfare through the efficient use of natural
resources without harming the environment.
According to the scholar, the university’s agrobiostation
plays an important role in training a new generation of researchers in the
field of a “green” technology-based economy. It was noted that students’
practical training contributes to scientific research and the discovery of new
environmental innovations. He also stated that the impact of climate change on
public welfare and national economies continues to grow worldwide. Therefore,
the professor подчеркнул the importance of forming a community of talented
scientists in this field.
In addition, the prerequisites for launching future chemical
laboratories and projects at the university were presented. A substantive
discussion was held regarding their main mission and research directions, and
proposals and recommendations were put forward.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Strategy and
Internationalization Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation
Ertay Sultan, as well as researchers and the leadership of the Faculty of
Natural Sciences and Geography. This meeting will undoubtedly give impetus to
strengthening the scientific potential and international reputation of Abai
University.
