Particular attention is paid to the scientific and methodological propaganda of Abai's teachings and his concept of "Tolyk Adam", Vecher.kz reports.

On November 19, 2024, at the initiative of KazNPU named after Abai, the opening ceremony of the Scientific and Cultural Center named after Abai was held in the city of Semey on the basis of the State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai "Zhidebay-Borili".

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat and intelligentsia of the Abai region, as well as heads and leading scientists of universities, famous public and government figures of the country.

The purpose of opening this center is to strengthen cooperation between Abai University, the Zhidebai-Borili Reserve and Museum, and the Research Institute of the Academy of Abai Studies, which will expand cooperation with foreign Abai centers and become a platform for introducing innovative approaches to popularizing the heritage of the great thinker of Kazakhstan among young people. Particular attention is paid to the scientific and methodological propaganda of Abai's teachings and his concept of "Tolyk Adam", and the education of the younger generation through his works.

The center is focused on the effective use of the capabilities of a modern museum for educational, scientific, and cultural work, which is especially important in the context of globalization. It will contribute to the search for new methods of attracting visitors, the development of cultural tourism with a local history focus, as well as the expansion of scientific interaction between the museum and the university.

During the event, a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek was read out, in which he emphasized the importance of creating the center as a key platform for studying, preserving and popularizing the legacy of Abai.

Rector Bolat Tlep, noting the importance of opening the Abai Center, detailed the key initiatives aimed at popularizing the legacy of the great thinker both at the national and international levels.

"President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to popularizing the work of Abai, a great thinker and symbol of the national spirituality of the country. His teaching "Tolyk Adam" serves as an important guideline in the education of youth. The promotion and preservation of his legacy is the responsibility of the cultural, educational and artistic institutions bearing his name. It is a great honor for us to be on the sacred land where the great Abai lived and worked, and to open a Scientific and Cultural Center on the basis of the Zhidebai-Borili State Museum-Reserve, embodying this honorable mission,” said the rector of Abai University.

As part of this event, Abai scholars from Abai University held meetings with the staff of the Alikhan Bokeikhan University in Semey. Open lectures on the philosophy, creativity and teachings of Abai were organized for students.
