Today, the opening ceremony of the week of traditional science was held at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai as part of the celebration of the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunabayev.

The event was attended by the university administration, deans of faculties, faculty, council of young researchers, research fellows and active student youth.

The rector of the university Bolat Tlep delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the event. He noted that the opening of the week coincides with the 180th anniversary of the great poet, educator and thinker Abai Kunanbayev.

“Universities of the country face a big task - the development of university science. Of course, science is not a matter of a day, month, week, year. This is a huge potential in the daily work of our university. Our university has established itself in the scientific space today. It has achieved a number of successes in the field of education and science, reaching great heights. The traditionally organized "Science Week" has its own characteristics every year. The opening of this week is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet, educator, thinker Abay Kunanbayev. In addition, a scientific and innovation park created over the past year will be opened at the university. Several new laboratories will be launched within this park. Here, future teachers and researchers will be able to master digital learning methods and engage in innovative projects. Our university with a 100-year history has a very high scientific potential. Our current task and goal is to further develop this potential while maintaining its continuity. This, of course, directly depends primarily on the issue of supporting young scientists. Therefore, about 120 large and small events are planned for this year's Science Week, the purpose of which is to support the efforts of students in science, to interest them in scientific research. Each of these measures is very important for us. Among them are international scientific and practical conferences, competitions among young scientists, seminars and trainings, a series of lectures by foreign experts, meetings in the Ted format. Here we can also note the intensive work of the laboratories at the scientific and innovation park "Abai Labs", which opened at Abai University. Today, as a continuation of this ceremonial event, a new laboratory from the scientific and innovation park "Abai Labs" will be opened, - said the rector.

During the event, the opening ceremony of the scientific laboratory "VR / AR technology in education" at the scientific and innovation park "Abai Labs" took place. This is an important step towards the development of modern educational technologies. The laboratory is designed to introduce new generation virtual and augmented reality technologies into the educational process.

In addition, under the scientific supervision of Academician of the NAS RK Mambet Koigeldiev, a 12-volume collection "Alashorda Case. 1920-1940s. Documents and Materials", a scientific seminar "Abai's Heritage - a Spiritual Treasury", Abaı Innovation Fest: an exhibition of innovative projects and startups and other scientific, methodological seminars and lectures dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev were prepared.

It should be noted that the events to develop the scientific potential of the educational institution will last until April 14, and about 120 events will be organized during the week. These include meetings of various areas with the participation of scientists and applicants from foreign and domestic universities, international scientific and practical conferences, competitions among young scientists, seminars and trainings, a series of lectures by foreign experts, and meetings in the Ted format.
