By order of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Chingiz Arinov, for the dedication shown in saving human life, 20-year-old third-year student of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai - Yernar Turgyn and 22-year-old Nurasyl Alimtayev, a fourth-year student of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, were awarded medals "Orte korsetken kaisarlygy ushin".

On March 2, 2025, at about 02:30 am, the two heroes heard cries for help from a house at the address: Almaty city, Zhetisu district, Novgorodskaya street, house 28, and quickly reported to the emergency rescue service. Before the firefighters arrived, despite the heavy smoke and the threat to their own lives, they entered the building and made several attempts to extinguish the fire.

Thanks to their quick decision, a 64-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were saved.
