STUDENT RECTORATE — A GUARANTEE OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Bolat Tilep, received the newly elected active members of the Student Rectorate. The purpose of the meeting was to hear a report on the work carried out by the Student Rectorate and to become familiar with its future plans.

The leadership of Abai University prioritizes the needs and requests of students. Their social well-being and living conditions are always given special attention.

During the meeting with active students, the Chairman of the Board – Rector personally met each participant and wished them success in their public and social activities. He also carefully listened to students’ requests and proposals, providing comprehensive answers to their questions. Issues related to the distance between academic buildings and the difficulties of moving between them were not overlooked.

“The remote location of the buildings is directly connected to the fact that the university is the first higher education institution in the country. Since its foundation was laid here, it is impossible to relocate historical facilities. If the number of faculties increases in the future, we plan to construct a new campus-style complex,” said Bolat Anapiyauly.

Special attention was also paid to the issue of student dormitories built many years ago, as the university is the oldest higher education institution in Kazakhstan with a rich history. According to the rector, most of the existing dormitories are outdated, and constructing new ones would be more efficient than carrying out major renovations.

“At present, contracts have been concluded for nine dormitories. If their conditions are inconvenient for students, we will consider alternative options. However, proposals and opinions must come directly from the students themselves. You are the representatives who convey this voice,” the rector emphasized.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the quality of education, the qualifications of the teaching staff, and the importance of high-quality education and a supportive environment for training competent specialists. Members of the Student Rectorate presented reports on the projects they had implemented and shared their future plans, including a proposal to organize a competition on the topic “Artificial Intelligence — the Key to the Future.”

In turn, the rector instructed students to organize the traditional “Student Spring” festival, as well as open house days at theaters and museums.

At the end of the meeting, official certificates were ceremoniously presented to the members of the Student Rectorate. These documents grant them the legal right to protect their interests within the university and among the student community.
