A LITERARY AND MUSICAL LYRIC EVENING WAS HELD
Today,
within the walls of Abai University, a нәзік әрі сыршыл literary evening,
reminiscent of the breath of spring, was held at the initiative of the Orazaly
Dosbosynov Center for Young Poets. As one of the meaningful gatherings in the
university’s spiritual life, the event brought together students and young
writers passionate about poetry. The main guest of the evening was poet Roza
Seilkhan, a prize winner of national poetry competitions and a laureate of the
international youth festival “Shabyt.”
The
meeting with the master of words, known in contemporary Kazakh poetry for her
distinctive voice, subtle lyricism, and deeply thoughtful verses, was of
particular significance for the university’s youth. During the event, young
poets recited dedicatory poems filled with respect, inspiration, and
admiration, expressing their heartfelt wishes to the honored guest. In turn,
Roza Seilkhan shared insights into her creative work and read her lyrical
pieces. Her poetry clearly conveyed the depths of the human soul, emotional
states, longing and hope, as well as profound reflections on life and time.
As
part of the evening, the university’s talented young representative Balnur
Sharipbay performed the song “Zheneshe,” written to the poet’s lyrics, further
enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the event. The melodious song and
meaningful poetry enriched the evening’s program and touched the audience. In
addition, young representatives of poetry read excerpts from their own works,
demonstrating the continuity of creative tradition within the literary
community and the high regard for the art of the word.
Held
in an open and sincere format, the meeting featured a candid dialogue between
Roza Seilkhan and the students, during which she spoke extensively about her
creative pursuits and life principles. Questions from the youth focused on the
nature of poetic talent, the source of inspiration, the process of a poem’s
creation, and the responsibility of a writer.
Responding
to the question, “What is most important for a poet — thought, feeling, or
mastery?” she said: “It is impossible to separate these three from one another.
Without feeling, a poem cannot be born. A poem without thought or meaning is
like insipid prose. Mastery is the remarkable bridge that unites thought and
feeling and conveys them to the reader’s heart. A poet must first feel with the
heart, reflect with the mind, and only then turn to the pen. A poem is the
truth of the soul. If it does not carry sincerity, it will not endure.”
The
evening was also attended by poet Bolat Sharakhymbay, a member of the Writers’
Union of Kazakhstan, and poet Magiza Kunapiya. They gave high praise to Roza
Seilkhan’s art and reflected on the place of subtle lyricism in Kazakh poetry.
The guests advised young writers not to abandon their creative search, to
remain faithful to the word, and to strive for spiritual depth. At the
conclusion of the gathering, the poet expressed her sincere gratitude to the
audience.
The
meaningful literary evening gave new impetus to the younger generation and
enriched the spiritual and cultural life of the university. For creative youth,
the meeting became an important spiritual lesson, fostering a sense of
responsibility and integrity toward the art of the word.
