THE NEXT MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL WAS HELD
A regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at Abai University today. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Management Board, Rector of the University Bolat Tlep. The meeting addressed issues of strategic importance regarding the priorities of the university's long-term development for the second half of the 2025-2026 academic year.
On the first issue of the agenda, Vice-Rector
for Academic Affairs of Banu Narbekova conducted a comprehensive analysis of
the results of the winter examination session of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Academic indicators, academic achievements and mechanisms for improving the
quality of students' education were widely discussed at the meeting. As a
result of the discussion, specific tasks were set to improve academic
processes, update internal regulatory documents, improve the quality of exam
materials, improve test assignments and strengthen work on informatization.
At the meeting, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization
Aigul Iskakova presented a report on the implementation of the university's
development program for 2023-2029 in 2025. The report outlined the work on the
transformation of the university into a national pedagogical research university,
the implementation of the roadmap, the development of scientific
infrastructure, participation in international projects and the
commercialization of scientific results. The Academic Council supported the
systematic implementation of the university's strategic goals until 2029.
As part of the next question, Almas Naimanbayev, Director of
the Department of Career Guidance and Career Development, spoke about the progress
of career guidance and ways to expand partnership with secondary education organizations.
The Council approved plans to organize joint events with schools, including seminars,
open days and platforms for exchanging experiences, strengthening mutual cooperation
with local executive bodies and attracting applicants for the 2026-2027 academic
year. Also, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Karim Baigutov, presented new initiatives
aimed at improving the academic policy of the faculty. The Council approved proposals
to introduce new educational programs, expand work with creative schools, digitize
student practice portfolios, and organize master classes on modern creative programs
such as Figma, Procreate, CLO 3D, and Blender. In addition, the task is to increase
the number of scientific publications in international databases.
The Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education
and Primary Military Training, Yernar Ospankulov, reported on the work aimed at
increasing the scientific and methodological potential of the faculty. He spoke
about the development of new training programs in the field of Physical
education, the improvement of the status of the scientific journal
"SPORTTYQ BILIM & GYLYM", the increase in publications on
international scientific bases, the development of grant projects and support
for the scientific activities of doctoral students.
At the meeting of the Academic Council, young scientists who received PhD degrees in a number of educational programs were solemnly awarded. In particular, Baykhozhayeva Gulzhaukhar Mazhitovna ("Biology"), Aryn Yerzhan Omaruly ("Linguistics"), Musakhan Ryskul Myrzakhankyzy ("Geography"), Khorgasbai Enlik Tokhpolatkyzy ("Geography"), Nabiyev Vakil Huseynovich ("Political Science") and Yusupov Kuanyshbek Yesenbekovich ("Sociology") were awarded a PhD, Bulat Anapiyevich officially congratulated them.
Following the meeting, relevant decisions were
made on all issues on the agenda and specific instructions were given.
