ISSUES OF SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT ADDRESSED

A discussion meeting was organized at Abai University to enhance scientific potential and address key issues in research activities. The agenda focused on doctoral dissertations, the management of scientific projects, and the advancement of academic journals.

Yertay Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, elaborated on the activities of dissertation councils, emphasizing the need for rigorous supervision of PhD students' research quality. The Vice-Rector highlighted the importance of monitoring both the technical and substantive compliance of dissertations, as well as ensuring timely defenses. Plans were outlined for the establishment of new dissertation councils across several scientific disciplines, defining their future scope and objectives.

The meeting also addressed the utilization of internal grants allocated by the university to support and develop research. Several proposals were put forward regarding the efficient use of funds for projects involving young scientists and faculty members, in alignment with planned schedules.

Furthermore, specific measures were adopted to develop the university’s scientific journals, strengthen editorial boards, and improve the quality of publications. The session also considered the enhancement and accreditation of research laboratories as part of Abai University's strategic development.

During the meeting, various topics related to science were explored, and a comprehensive work plan to boost the university's scientific potential was discussed. Moving forward, the university will continue to expand the scope of its research activities, strengthen international partnerships, and increase the volume of grant funding.
