Today, Abai University hosted the grand opening of a methodological room dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Bashen Baimuratkyzy, a prominent scientist and founder of the preschool education and training methodology. The event also featured the international scientific-practical conference titled "Preschool Education: Development Strategy in Modern Conditions."

Prior to the conference, a specialized classroom named after the scientist was inaugurated at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology. The new room aims to revitalize the works of Bashen Baimuratkyzy and widely introduce her scientific legacy to students. The honorary ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by the scientist's daughter, Samal Berdibekkyzy, and the Director of the University's Academic Affairs Department, Zhanna Zhussupova.

"It is a great honor for me that a room dedicated to my mother is being opened within the walls of Abai University, an institution with nearly a century of history. I believe this room will represent the continuity of a pedagogical legacy. My mother opened the first Kazakh kindergarten in the country and made an invaluable contribution to the formation of the preschool education sector. I hope students will find inspiration in her work and serve the future of our nation," said Samal Berdibekkyzy.

Bashen Baimuratkyzy was a candidate of pedagogical sciences, an associate professor, and an honored worker of education of the USSR and the Kazakh SSR. Her research on speech development and coherent communication for preschool children remains highly relevant today.

The conference brought together local and international scientists, educators, heads of preschool organizations, and young researchers. Participants discussed the current state of the preschool education system, identified scientific and methodological directions for its improvement, and shared innovative ideas for enhancing the professional competence of teachers. The event served as a platform for expertise exchange and gave a fresh impetus to new scientific research in the field of preschool pedagogy.
