SPARTAKIAD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Over the weekend, a staff Spartakiad was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University to determine the strongest teams within the university community. At the event promoting a healthy lifestyle, faculty members and employees competed in various sports. The winners of the traditional tournament received special awards.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and member of the National Commission “People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan”, Bolat Tilep, stated: “A country strong in sports is a country strong in spirit. Such a nation must have firm laws and internal order. In this regard, I believe that March 15 – the day of voting in the upcoming referendum on the new Constitution – is an important historic date for Kazakhstan. The main thing is not to make a mistake in our choice. Every citizen’s vote is the choice of the country’s future.” He also noted that holding the Spartakiad at the time when Kazakhstan won a historic gold medal at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Italy was no coincidence.
