The XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad among students in the educational program “6B051 – Environment” was held at Abai University, organized by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography. This large-scale academic competition brought together talented students from across the country, offering them a platform to demonstrate their abilities in a scientific and educational environment.

A total of 26 teams from 20 universities of Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad. The contestants stood out not only for their strong theoretical knowledge but also for their research skills, creative thinking, and responsible attitudes toward environmental issues.

The competition consisted of several stages. In the first two rounds, participants presented creative projects within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” program and conveyed their ideas through video presentations. These stages evaluated their command of modern technologies and their ability to creatively address environmental topics. In addition, theoretical tests assessed their professional knowledge, logical thinking, and mastery of the subject.

In the third stage, teams defended their research projects, presenting effective solutions to real environmental challenges. Participants introduced innovative ideas related to environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources, and ensuring ecological safety. This stage played a key role in evaluating the students’ scientific and practical competencies.

The Olympiad also included a cultural and educational program. Participants were taken on an экскурсия to the Medeu gorge, where they engaged in informal discussions and shared experiences. This helped strengthen дружеские and professional connections among the students.

The competition was judged by experienced practitioners. According to the results, the grand prize was awarded to the team from Karaganda Buketov University. Second place was shared by students from Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Third place went to teams from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Narxoz University, and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

Amid the implementation of the Head of State’s “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative, this year’s Olympiad has gained particular significance. It is clear that such academic competitions play an important role in shaping a new generation capable of addressing the country’s environmental challenges.
