ISSUES OF DEVELOPING PHILOLOGICAL SCIENCES DISCUSSED
Today, a regular meeting of
the Expert Coordination Center for Research in Philological Sciences, operating
on a permanent basis under Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and the
Akhmet Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, was held. The meeting was
dedicated to the birthday of the prominent linguist and academician Shora
Sarybayev. The event was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Almaty City Branch of the
International Society «Qazaq Tili».
At the meeting devoted to the topic «Research of Philological
Sciences: Current Issues and Ways of Solution,» issues of systematizing national linguistic science, determining the
directions of scientific research, and strengthening the substantive quality of
dissertation works were discussed. The meeting was chaired by Academician
Karimbek Kurmanaliyev, Independent Director of the Board of Directors of the
National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At this meeting, the Center gathered in one place the heads of dissertation
councils in philological sciences from major higher educational institutions of
the country and brought to the agenda topics actively discussed in society.
Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Board-Rector
of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Bolat Tilep said:
–
Such
work in the field of science requires great responsibility. Today, the Center
has turned into an authoritative platform for the exchange of scientific
opinions and expert review of research. This is not only an academic task, but
also a strategic direction that determines national identity. The activities of
the Center are not limited only to expert research; they cover large-scale
tasks that give impetus to the development of philological sciences.
The Expert Coordination Center aims to
systematically contribute to the development of national philological sciences.
Within its framework, such relevant issues as monitoring dissertation topics
through a unified database, discussing them, and others were considered. The
scholars concluded that coordination of all scientific works from a single
center will make it possible to ensure the harmonious development of research
areas. Supporting young scholars and accompanying their scientific
dissertations also provides encouragement.
Chair of the Committee for Quality Assurance
in Science and Higher Education Adilet Toybayev noted: «Among some doctoral
students, there are enough problems related to the repetition and copying of
dissertation topics. This is a pilot project. If it proves effective, we will
introduce it in other fields as well,» and informed that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the
Republic of Kazakhstan will support the work of the Expert Coordination Center
for Research in Philological Sciences.
Representative of the National Academy of
Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhenisbek Tolen,
chairs of dissertation councils at universities, and leading scholars Fauziya
Orazbayeva, Dikhan Kamzabekuly, Kalbike Yessenova, and Anar Fazylzhan expressed
comprehensive opinions on the issues raised and put forward substantial
proposals.
Also, First Deputy Director of the Center
Kalbike Yessenova explained the future operational algorithm of the Expert
Coordination Center.
Following the meeting, a special resolution
was adopted on strengthening the quality of research, improving scientific
requirements, and forming a digital ecosystem of national scientific data.
The Expert Coordination Center will continue
its work in this direction.
