An “Open Day” week is taking place at Abai University from April 23 to 30. Today’s next event continued at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology. The meeting was attended by students of Almaty city colleges and senior students of general secondary schools.

The event was opened by Elmurat Kurmangali, Deputy Dean for Social and Educational Affairs, who introduced the participants to the life of the university and wished future students success. During the Open Day, Bauyrzhan Zhankushkov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Primary Education, delivered an informative presentation on the university’s rich history and scientific potential.

Currently, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology provides fundamental education in six specialized areas. With a history of more than half a century, the faculty is a leader in training qualified specialists in 10 majors. For instance, in the 2025 ranking of educational programs by the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the program “Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge” offered at the faculty ranked first. This indicates the high demand for graduates of this field in the labor market.

The meeting also widely explained the effectiveness and importance of the dual education system, which integrates theory and practice. This system allows students to consolidate their knowledge in real work environments and helps develop practical skills at an early stage. In addition, within the framework of dual education, students undertake internships in partner educational institutions and organizations, adapt to the labor market, and establish direct connections with employers.

Financial opportunities for applicants were also discussed. In addition to state educational grants, detailed information was provided on rector’s grants for high-achieving students, as well as social benefits and special grants. Issues of academic mobility, opportunities to gain experience abroad, and the functioning of the military department were also covered. Active students from each department shared their opinions, speaking about student life and the advantages of the creative environment.

At the end of the meeting, applicants asked their questions and received comprehensive answers from specialists. Today’s meeting gave momentum to an important step for school graduates in choosing a profession. The university continues to train in-demand and competitive specialists with distinction. The university staff expressed their eagerness to see prospective students among the student body in the new academic year. The institution offers every knowledge-seeking young person a broad path toward quality education and professional development.
