The university became the leader among pedagogical universities of Kazakhstan in the Asian ranking.

The new ranking of the best universities in Asia - QS Asia University Rankings 2025 included 984 universities from 25 countries of the Asian mega-region, Liter.kz reports.

The leaders among the countries were also India, China and Japan.

The new ranking of the best universities in Asia 2025 - QS Asia University Rankings 2025 includes 35 Kazakhstani universities, which is an absolute record for higher education in the country throughout its history.

The Kazakhstani segment of higher education demonstrated unprecedented dynamics. Of the 35 participants, three Kazakhstani universities entered the top 100: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (29th place), L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (65th place) and Satbayev University (89th place). The top four among universities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia is completed by Abai KazNPU. Among the country's pedagogical universities, Abai University ranks first.

Abai University is in the top 150 of the Asian ranking and ranks 131st, improving its position by 15 notches compared to last year. The university showed the best results in academic reputation, graduate employment, and student-to-faculty ratio.

According to QS Regional Director Sergey Khristolyubov, the number of Kazakhstani participants broke the record for the entire history of higher education in the country, and the average values ​​of the calculated indicators increased for each indicator of the methodology, which indicates systematic work to improve global competitiveness. At the same time, according to him, this year the share of publications by Kazakhstani authors in Q1 and Q2 journals exceeded 70% for the first time.

These achievements demonstrate the high level of development of the Kazakhstani educational system and strengthen the positions of the country's universities in the international arena. Having improved its results in the prestigious ranking, Abai University continues to actively work to improve the quality of education, develop scientific research and expand international cooperation, which opens up new prospects for students and teachers.

The results of the 2025 ranking also open up new opportunities for the further development of scientific and educational initiatives, including through strengthening international ties and scientific collaborations.
