ABAI UNIVERSITY’S EXPERIENCE PRESENTED AT THE ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
On May 21–22, Astana hosted the Erasmus+ Regional Information Day and the
international conference titled “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education.”
The event was organized with the support of the Erasmus+ National Office in
Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of
Kazakhstan. Representatives of Abai University participated in the conference
and presented their experience in training specialists in the field of
artificial intelligence.
The opening
ceremony of the conference was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher
Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, who emphasized the
importance of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the higher
education system.
“Artificial intelligence opens up new opportunities for higher education.
It contributes to improving the quality of education, advancing scientific
research, and training competitive specialists. In this regard, the Erasmus+
program plays an important role in strengthening international cooperation and
integrating universities into the global educational space,” the Minister stated.
The event was
attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Abai Kazakh National
Pedagogical University Banu Narbekova, Director of the Department of
International Cooperation Bayan Sapargaliyeva, Director of the Department for
Educational Program Analysis Nurzhamal Oshanova, and Head of the Department of
International Programs and Cooperation Ayaulym Akhmetbekova.
“All higher educational institutions in our country actively participate in
Erasmus+ projects. As a result, numerous initiatives have contributed to the
development and improvement of the quality of higher education. The purpose of
this conference is to enhance the quality of such projects and increase the
number of participants,” said Vice-Rector Banu Mukhataykyzy.
During the
international conference, Abai University representative, Director of the
Department for Educational Program Analysis and Associate Professor Nurzhamal
Oshanova, delivered a presentation titled “Training Specialists in Artificial
Intelligence Amid Modern Challenges: The Experience of Abai Kazakh National
Pedagogical University.” The university’s experience in this area was presented
as one of the best practices in Kazakhstan in the digitalization of pedagogical
education and the effective use of artificial intelligence technologies.
During the
two-day conference, participants extensively discussed the opportunities and
risks of artificial intelligence in the higher education systems of Central
Asian countries, digital transformation, academic cooperation, and new
opportunities within the Erasmus+ program.
